Jubilation liked to think that she was a cool teacher. She taught a class that she had appropriately titled History of Mutants where she focused on only mutant history, obviously, which did include a lot of the X-Men’s history. It was usually for students that had already learned general world history. She also occasionally helped out with combat classes. Apparently it was helpful for the students to learn how to fend off a vampire. She was honestly sick of hearing questions about her vampirism. So she drank blood, big deal!
Considering it wasn’t the very first day of school, she was prepared to smack anyone upside the head if they asked her one more time what blood tasted like. And besides, class wasn’t even in session. She was currently stuck with after school detention. This was the time when she wasn’t supposed to be the cool teacher, but rather the boring one because detention wasn’t supposed to be fun.
She was dressed in a sliming black tank top with her hair extensions in and flowing over one shoulder. She wore skinny jeans with a black belt around her waist and a belt buckle with the X-Men logo on it. Despite the usual cold that came with January in the chilly state of New York, she wore black sandals on her feet. She didn’t dress her age, but she could pull it off without question. Her signature pink sunglasses were perched on the top of her head, her red eyes visible. She chewed some gum, blew a bubble, popped it, and returned to chewing.
“So what did you bubs do to get sent to the doghouse?” she asked, trying her best to imitate Logan’s gravelly voice. And despite being female, she thought she did a pretty good job. Years of knowing Logan did pay off, after all. She didn’t remember handing out any of the detention slips, so clearly no one had acted out in her class. And usually she let it slip by, unless the student was disrespectful or obnoxiously acting out, then she put them in their place.

H Y D R O > > roy kingsley
Roy had thought that his world had turned upside-down way back in Ohio years ago in that orphanage when he finally learned what he was.
Then he joined a mutant boarding school where one of his teachers was a vampire. Did vampires count as mutants? Roy wasn't so sure. In fact, Roy used to be of the opinion that vampires were just legend.
Vanessa had thought it was great. She viewed it as a learning experience, or whatever she wanted to call it, and found it absolutely fascinating that vampires existed. What was next? Werewolves? (Actually, Roy was pretty sure he saw a classmate turn into a wolf the other day during lunchtime.)
Roy sighed and put his head on the desk, all of these different powers and abilities in one place making his head hurt. He was sure that Ms. Lee wouldn't mind; she wasn't too bad, as far as teachers went, and he didn't even mind her History of Mutants class. He could admit that it was interesting to find out why and how mutants existed.
He blinked and raised an eyebrow when Ms. Lee, in a gravelly imitation of the short, hairy teacher's voice, spoke. "Umm... Forgot to do my homework," he said. "...For the third time."
Yeah. Ms. Parker hadn't been too happy about that. Another reason why Roy didn't mind Ms. Lee being in charge of detention today.

Jubilation raised an eyebrow. Detention for only forgetting to do his homework? Even if it was his third offense, it seemed a bit harsh in her opinion. Who was the teacher that had decided to punish him? “Which teacher was it?” she inquired as she got up from behind her desk, walked around it, and then sat down on top of it. She crossed her legs – very unladylike, she was certain Emma would have rolled her eyes.
“Perhaps you could make up the homework now?” It was a suggestion, one that she wouldn’t have taken back when she had been a student. But she had to at least pretend she was a responsible adult now. She was responsible, but not all the time. Where was the fun in always being responsible? “I’m sure we can find some way to motivate you – a way that’s school appropriate.” She added the last part as an afterthought. She still remembered how teenagers’ minds worked and she doubted much had changed since when she had been a teen.
She pushed herself off of her desk and walked back around, bending over and grabbing something from under her desk. She lifted it up and placed it on top of her desk – a large blue bucket full of water balloons. She looked into the bucket and tapped the rim of it with her fingers. “I was saving these for the first years later today. I was going to take them here and we’d wait for the older students and then toss some at them.”
She looked over at Roy and jerked her thumb in the direction of one of the windows to her classroom. “What you say? Wanna have some fun in this snooze fest? Though any homework you have needs to be finished first. And if you hit a teach, I’ll cover for you.” The last time she’d gotten her hands on some water balloons – it’d been during the summer – she’d managed to hit Logan in the face. He hadn’t been too happy about it, but he’d shrugged it off once she handed him one and he slugged Scott with it.
She loved this school.
