Nix walked out of her room with her towel in hand and her black jacket around her shoulders, a loose pair of track suits she had borrowed from the lost property. her hair hung down around her shoulders and a smirk sat happily over her face, time to have some fun. She wandered to the window at the end of her corridor and then jumped off the window sill, her hands flicking out around her as she fell. Her feet hit the ground hard and she dropped to her knees but the impact was gone shortly after and she shook herself and nodded, time for a little walk. She walked across the ground and towards the pool before she dropped her towel at the edge of it, though she needed to take off her jacket too and she cared for that. She bent down and shrugged off her jacket before she folded the arms and centre in carefully and then placed it down on the ground, next came the towel. She lifted the towel and wrapped ir over the top of the jacket so she couldnt get it wet, a wet towel wasnt very important. Her jacket getting wet was

Of course there would be someone crazy enough to go swimming in January.
Roy was floating along the bottom of the pool, rolling his eyes at seeing the figure, distorted due to the water, standing near the edge of it. He contemplated just sitting where he was, thinking that perhaps the other person wouldn't notice him and the two could happily ignore each other. Then again, if the other person did see him, that person may think he was drowning and try to play hero.
The other alternative would be that Roy would end up startling the other person so much that Roy would discover first-hand what the other person could do. Roy didn't want to be on the receiving end of someone's laser eyes, thank you very much.
Roy sighed and gathered himself through the water, gliding toward the pool's other end and breaking through the smooth surface. He glanced at the figure, a young woman, another student probably around his age, and gave her a nod for a greeting.
Vanessa would probably have said something to him about being anti-social but, honestly, he didn't feel like talking right now. He was in his element and preferred to just relax at one end of the pool while the girl did whatever she wanted at the other end.

The cold winter air tried to nip at nix's skin but she ignored it and pushed the thoughts away, lord knew she had been through so much worse before this. Her mind slipped in to a sort of daze as she thought this and she sat down at the edge of the pool and dipped her legs in so the water washed over her skin and up to her knees as she kicked a little, though her mind was far away from all this. She was remembering cold winters in an attic room, washing clothes in an old wash tub with frozen water, trying to hide in the alleys of a city while her teeth chatter from the cold. She shivered at her own thoughts before a sound made her start and her eyes swam back in to focus, her hands curled in to tight fists as she snapped her head around.
She spotted the other student and then paused and relaxed, her shadows that had rushed to form around her fists died away and then nix replied to his nod with one of her own. Well that didnt look good she imagined, zoning out side the school pool and coming back to the real world with fists ready and powers about to attack. Though her past was good at making her act that way, it was a pity

Roy had caught a glimpse of the darkness that had momentarily surrounded the young woman's fists when she had first spotted him. Shadows? Some sort of anti-matter? Maybe she had a link with the night? Whatever the darkness had been, the fact that she had been ready to attack made a quirked smile touch his face.
"Sorry for startling you," he said. Making a vague gesture toward the girl's hands, Roy added, "I did something like that... Made water swords and accidentally threatened one of the teacher aids with them..."
And then Roy shut up. He was surprised with himself for speaking that much to someone whose name he didn't know. He tried to recall if the new girl was in any of his classes. He wasn't the type to look around the classroom or reach out to anyone else; he left that to those who were more outgoing (like that Willow girl). Judging by the nod he had gotten in return from the young woman at the other end of the pool, she probably wasn't the type to strike up a conversation either.
Or maybe she was just conscious of the fact that he wasn't the type up for talking about the weather and all those small talk topics...
