Nix sat in the art room with her legs above her head and her arms crossed under her, supporting her body. Ok, so it was Tia-Chi. It was yoga. Though she was sure no-one would be coming in to annoy her, she liked her alone time and she had only just found out about this yoga thing. She liked it, it was simple and kept her rather supple. Her eyes were closed and she was humming softly to herself before a sound made her move her head, well move it a little. She was upside down and supporting her body so turning was a bit harder, though she could now see the door.
She could hear foot steps in the corridor outside, though why someone was coming out at this time in the evening she wasnt sure. Nix was not a morning person, she liked her time in the dark and out at night. So this was her time to herself while everyone else got ready to sleep, so who or what was walking around out there at this kinda time?

Apollo was a little surprised to see a student in the Art room so late in the evening. It wasn't a curfew violation or anything - only the younger students had a set bedtime, anyway - but it was a strange thing to see a student doing yoga in the middle of a room he'd seen people painting in not three hours ago. Not a big follower of any kind of sport - or any activity that was active, for that matter - the young man had no clue if what she was doing was dangerous to interrupt; he had the bizarre worry that she'd sprain something, or get something stuck, if he startled her.
When Nix managed to wiggle herself to face the door, Apollo smiled a little and waved, polite and hopeful that he hadn't scared her. "Hello. I just came to see if I'd left a file in here; I didn't mean to interrupt. Just looking for something I thought I'd left in here earlier today.", he half-apologized, half-explained. Leaving the door open behind him - the way he'd found it - the student aide walked into the room, glancing at the desks that had been pushed against the wall haphazardly by the last class to use them. Seeing a chair upon the small stage in the middle of the room, Apollo wondered if they'd been painting a model. But model or no model, the file he was seeking had seemingly vanished - had he missed it, mixed in with the others?
Biting his lower lip, and now half-ignoring that Nix was even in the room, he set down in the teachers' chair and started going through the papers on the desk. Not important enough to bring back to the office with the teacher, clearly; perhaps the red file was among the papers and other miscellany scattered on the piece of metal and drawers. Maybe he could ask Ms. Parker? She had a mind like a steel trap - it was possible she'd seen it somewhere.

Nix turned her gaze to stop someone who was not what she saw coming, not at all. He was clearly a lot older than her and didnt even seem to be a student, and she didnt work well with teachers. It wasnt that she didnt like them, it was that nix liked what she liked and if she got in trouble for it then so be it. She nodded her head as he spoke, or rather shook it upside down. "Dont worry about it, this is just time to myself" she said with a little wink as she decided to right herself, better to talk to someone the right way up. She pushed her hands up and her legs shifted from being crossed upside down to flicking out straight and then her feet hit the ground before she curled upwards and then stretched her hands out above her head, a little click running through her spine as she did so but a smile on her face.
The male walked right past her and started looking over desks and even to the teachers desk and she raised an eyebrow, well ok then. She hoped he was allowed to do that, because not even she would go rummaging through a teachers desk. "Need a hand?" she asked with a little tilt of her head as she looked the male over, why did she think she should know him. She was sure she had seen him about but not for student reasons, or "been in trouble" teachers reason either.

That she offered to help was nice; that she was doing it from an upright position, and not one that had the young adult worrying about her twisting something made it much more likely that she was actually offering, and not just being polite. Apollo waffled, even though Nix seemed honestly wanting to help. The file he was looking for wasn't related to the classroom - it was a file with his medical records in it that he needed to bring on his next doctor's appointment. It'd been years since he'd seen a doctor in New York; at least not around the school. With his need for hormone pills, he needed to find some way to get a local renewal of his prescription, and bringing his medical file was a part of that. So he'd grabbed it yesterday - meaning to merely put it on his desk to remind himself to bring it - and had taken it along with the files for class. Not having had a chance to put it back when he'd noticed he'd grabbed it accidentally, Apollo had been almost frantic since he realized he'd lost it sometime during the day.
So having extra hands to help him look was the best thing that could happen, right? Not considering what might happen if she found the file and looked through it... Then again, he could barely make heads or tales of everything in there - it wasn't likely a high-schooler would have any more luck with it, he decided. "Ah - I would appreciate an extra hand or two, if it wouldn't be a bother.", he admitted, shooting a half-grin at the pale student. As he did, the aide noticed her curious look - wary, maybe? He was kind of rooting through a teachers' day plans, Apollo realized. It was probably really unprofessional of him, but - who was going to know? Nothing was on the desk that was red anyway. "By the way - my name is Apollo - I'm a teachers' aide. I help the teachers' out with grades and paperwork, that kind of thing." He owed her some kind of explanation, didn't he? It would explain why he had just waltzed into the classroom, for one thing.
Sighing, he gave up the ghost on the desk - maybe it'd fallen on the floor? Walking around to check under the desks, he found himself talking again - unusual for him, but perhaps it was nerves. "You're a student, am I right? I don't think I've seen you in class yet."

Nix nodded happily as the male seemed grateful to have the offer of help, though she did still feel a little on edge just wandering through the files the teachers had. What if she found something she shouldn't, nix was one who loved trouble but there were line that one didnt cross. Though he attended to that mental fire quickly, a teachers aide? Well that would be why she knew him, he was one of those who likely didnt actually know of her by face but may have heard of her many detentions or trouble making moments. "Ok, knowing that makes me feel better about just looking through education files" she said with a wink as he finished his explanation and introduction before she started over to his side and looked over his shoulder. What to look for?
Well what ever he needed seem not to be on the desk, he had given up on that by now and moved to looking over the floor. She could feel her fingers began to buzz and looked at the male in worry, why was he so on edge about losing some files? Well maybe they were important ones, after all her files had to include her run in with the law a few times and she didn't really want people to know about those all that much. She stepped back from the desk and leaned again the wall, partly to do something and partly to get out of his way at the same time. Not to mention she could see better from here, though she didnt see any files on the floor. he spoke again and she turned to look at him and tilted her head, "yea student, i tend to be that one at the back of the class that no-one notices until class ends and something gone wrong" she said with a little chuckle to herself. Well it was true. "I never introduced myself, how rude. I'm shadow" she said with a little nod as he moved around the next few desks, a handshake to cement that introduction didnt seem very likely here

Apollo frowned at her joke - it was a joke? right? sometimes it was hard to tell - and kept looking, only making an attentive grunt to show he was listening while the brunette student talked. No file under that desk, or that one, or that one... Where could it have gone to? He needed to find it - not that he couldn't get another one printed and sent to him from his other doctor, but finding the original file would save him time - and save him from the worry that someone would find it, would read it and see him for what his traitorous nature had labeled him as.
After going over the rest of the room, Apollo sighed, rubbing a hand against his forehead, leaning back to half-sit on one of the desks. He had to admit defeat; it clearly wasn't in the room. Maybe Vanessa had seen it somewhere? One of the teachers? Chances were much better that they wouldn't look into it if they found the file; kids were just a lot more curious, and a bit less respective of personal space, Apollo figured. "Don't make a habit of it.", he told Nix, dryly. "I'm sure it's not something you'll have to do often." Or at least he hoped not. The way she spoke about her own reputation - infamy, it sounded like, but he hadn't been at the school long enough to really pin any rumours to specific kids - made him raise his eyebrows.
But he smiled politely as the brunette introduced herself. "Nice to meet you, then, Shadow. I'll make sure to keep a look out in class.", he replied, half joking. He wanted to ask if that was her real name - he was named after a god, after all, so 'Shadow' wouldn't be completely out of the range of possible - or a nickname. He hoped it wasn't a potential code-name; those were always the kind of students that wanted to go out and fight the evil in the world with spandex and leather, not words and logical arguments. But it wasn't his place to ask, not right then.
